Hi All
I have a 2000 mercury 140hp 2 stroke outboard.
I changed my impeller and put a new housing in. All went well and took the boat our for a test run, it ran between 140 and 170 so very happy. The tell tale was nice and strong. The only problem was that the speedo does not work and I realise that the little pipe going into the gearbox must not have been connected when I put it back together.
The question is that when I ran fresh water through the engine after I had used it, I noticed that when I stopped there was water coming out of the two square annodes on each side of the leg. I might be paraniod but should water be coming out of this part of the leg, or could it be to do with the pipe that is loose from the speedo.
