Johnson 35 HP

My motor has just started leaking grease from the lower unit.Is this a serious problem or no and how much would it cost to get it fixed?This is my 1st boat and motor,so I know nothing about them.Please help!!! :( The motor is a Johnson 35 HP

Hey Dayton!! Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />When ya' say grease...do ya' mean oil or gear lube? I'm gonnal throw a bunch of questions at ya'.<br /><br />What color is it? Dark black gooey looking or light amber color?<br /><br />Have you drained and checked the lower unit to see what shape the gear lube is in and if there is any water in the gear case?<br /><br />What year are we talking about? If ya' don't know or not sure...post the model number. We can help.

OBJ I wenmt put there today to check the color of the oily grease and it was dark.but anything else about the motor I don't know cause I'm a beginner with this kind of stuff.But someone had told me it was the oil needs to be changed,which would make it real easy for me but thanks if someone can help out alot!!!oh !!! I know nothing about boats except how to get in and drive it but it is mine. ;) .But the year of the boat engine or anything I don't know or how to find them.
