72 slickcraft guages dont work

72 slickcraft < I cant get my dash guages to work , they light up but dont fuction.
I cant find a fuse any where .
i am dont know if they worked b/4 I got the boat.
I did rewirs the engine harness, but the guage wires are pretty straight foward.

There should be a purple wire coming out of the engine harness or the remote control that supplies 12vdc power to the gauges when the ignition switch is on. Find it and check for 12vdc when you turn the switch on, motor does not need to be running.

If none of the gauges work +12 volts is not getting to them or the ground is missing. The +12 volt feed comes from the "A" terminal on the ignition switch and there is no fuse in that line. The fuse back at the engine protects the engine related wiring. That said, the engine fuse is not the issue either if the starter and trim systems work. The problem is very likely at the helm.
