Has anyone ever used the square tubing towel clips to help hold on a mooring cover around the outside?? Thanks.

Re: Pontoon cover clips?

I am familiar with the clips you are referring to. They work great for towels, etc but I am afraid they do not fair well in the wind. I have never used them for a mooring cover tie down but my guess is they would only work until you had a nice gust of wind or a heavy rain. The clips do work their way up off the rail and then end up in the drink. :-( I love them for the towels but I do bring the towels down when driving as the wind tends to work the clips free. I hope this helps.

Re: Pontoon cover clips?

We have these clips that are shaped like dolphins and are of close pin design. The opening of the jaw fits around the square tubing allowing the clip to completely close around the rail tightly. I can't see these coming off. I can't say how they would work on a mooring cover but they are much more solid than the square clip on clips. I'll ask the wife where we got them and get back to ya.
