My son and I have recently purchased a bass boat with a 1989 Mariner Magnum II 150 on it. Every time we go out, we get stranded for a time cause the engine will not turn over. It cranks great on the trailer and in the water. But then after running to fishing spot - go to crank and there is no response to the turn of the key. At first i thought it was heat related, but the last time it did it to me, I went to spot and fished for almost 3 hours and the engine was not even warm when i turned the key. I would fish a few minutes, then try again till finally turned the key and ignition. I have replaced the control unit with to solve if it was a neutral safety switch - it still did it. I replace the ignition switch with a brand new one - it did it again! Does any one have similar and if so - WHAT WAS IT? It is driving us crazy to not be able to go out with out a chance of not getting back in without a tow or waiting till it decides to turn over with the key.
