i have a johnson seahorse model j5rcss been told that it is a 4.5 hp not sure could anyone tell me fuel mix , hp,and or any info that you may have .I have no idea about this outboard at all any help would be appreciated

Welcome to iboats !!

The motor is a Johnson 4.5hp and is noted as a 1980. The motor can be run at 50:1, but it's best to run at 32:1 or 24:1 to protect the motor's internal parts.

By 1980 the little twins were fully "jeweled" with frictionless bearings. 50:1 is the correct fuel mix.

Do not assume that info on one series of outboards is applicable to a different series.
