my first time trying to ask questions on site, so not sure what i'm doing
i have a 2010 19ft sea hunt skiff serial #sxsy0010d910 center console with a 2009 yamaha 115 4 stroke mod f115tlr ser 68vl1098309G . the steering has a minor sticking spot , but cable looks fine as well as all moving parts, it has been properly lubricated. could the problem be in steering wheel mechanism box below dash , i notice a small amount of grease on what appears to be a plug , but it has no grease fitting or hex nut to remove it . i am nervous to try to remove it , not knowing if i should.

Re: sticking steering

Remove that stainless steel nut that holds the end of your steering cable onto the steering arm(front/center of motor), then turn motor back and forth by hand to determine if the "minor sticking spot" is in the motor itself, or in the cable/steering mechanism. Have you greased that zerk fitting on the steering pivot bracket? Good Luck!
