Helping my Co-working TS his boat engine ....

Engine sat two years, before attempting to start:
? Old fuel w/Stabile was drained, new gas placed in tank
? New fuel filter was changed out
? Old spark plugs removed, engine was spun until fresh gas smell showed up

Engine was started up, test ran with muffs:
? ? RPM?s appears to run OK
? Would not idle below 1,500 RPM?s before beginning to run rough= start popping= die
? Injectors were removed, taken to local NAPA dealer and tested, appeared to pass/atomize fuel OK, did not have GPM flow rate to verify rate
? Engine will now idle down between 1,100 to 1,000 RPM?s before beginning to run rough= start popping= die

Electric fuel was replaced and ran before storage without any apparent problems. Replacement pump was a Ford MoCo, specified for a Ford Toris SHO

I am not a Yamaha tech, but putting parts other than the ones listed for the motor will probably not get much response.

But checking pressures would be a start

Yes & I couldn’t agree more> Believe me I chew *** for this stupid move, it’s usually driven by cost savings which seems to always comes back to bite in you in the END (pun intended)

Where are the fuel test points on this motor

Not real sure, but should be on rail for the high pressure to injectors.
Service manual would be a great help
