I'm replacing manifolds and risers on a 2007 Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi-B. I'm using GLMs and was wondering if a sealant is required in the installation?
Thanks!

Gasket Sealer is not required but is highly recommended as is paying the extra $27.00 or so for the medal OEM Volvo Riser gaskets. The new OEM Rise gaskets now call for the use of a sealant. Use the peratex copper spray gasket sealer and torque to 25 ft pounds all the way around and all should be well. Be sure to retourque all the bolts after things have had time to cool after your first couple outings. Good luck

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... I 2nd Senior B advice on the Gaskets....

With those GLM manifolds, When I bought a set,... The inner exhaust gasket surface was 'bout .010/ .020" Low...
They wouldn't seal, 'n I almost lost my motor....

So,....
Check yer's Closely with a straight edge, 'n feeler gages...
If it ain't Dead Flat,...
Run 'em to a Machine Shop, 'n they can flatten 'em for ya, reasonably quickly, 'n cheaply...

Way cheaper than a New Motor...
