i have a 84 jonnson 40 hp 1984 J40ELCRM Johnson and i need some help i changer the impeller and now im getting water squirting from the seam between the lower unit and midsection and the pee stream isn't as strong as before did i do something wrong? ok i took the lower unit off again and it seems like the copper tube is fitting loose in the grumet about an 1/8 of an inch all around the copper water tube its not a snug fit at all and the rubber gasket that goes around the shaft i think wasn't right i fitted it over the shaft with grove in the recess thats fits over the impeller houseing. should something be around the copper water tube other the the grummet that fits in the impeller houseing that the impeller bracket covers if you look here http://www.**********/parts/search/BRP/JOHNSON/1984/J40ELCRM/GEARCASE/parts.html part no. 59 is in the right place but the water tube is loose in it . i need some help before i put the unit back up .
