I am new to this forum and was told it was an excellent place to come for questions about boats. I am hopeful someone can guide me in the right direction.
As stated, I have a 1998 Evinrude 175 2 stroke engine which is fuel injected. About a month ago, I noticed that when idling or moving at slow speeds, the motor would die, and the primer bulb would be limp. A few pumps and it would start up again and be fine. Now recently its happening constantly and a few times, the "No oil" light has come on which prevents the motor from running above an idle. The oil reserve has always been full, and I have checked to be sure the motor is still getting oil which it is. The fuel primer bulb is impossible now to keep tight, and last night, I had to have my wife sit next to the bulb and pump it frequently to get back to shore.
I have replaced the bulb, fuel filter, and checked all the lines for leaks. This still has not seemed to solve the problem as the bulb will not stay hard for more than 15 or 20 seconds after pumping. What is the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
