I have 1977 190 OMC. I know it is electric shift but do I have a shift interupt? I am trying to get a new distributor with electronic ignition and I keep seeing this come up.

no ESA on your boat - no shift interrupt. Those concerns about electronic ignition and ESA interaction are for 1980's models, not yours. Ignore. As long as you get a marine electronic dizzy proper for your engine, you are good to go. You might need to change the coil depending on what make of dizzy you get, but the seller can help you with that. (If they can't, shop elsewhere)
