I think I may need some help!

It all started with a 1966 Merc 850. The motor was a basket case. It now runs like a top(thanks in part to the help on this site!), but just hangs in the back of the garage until I find a boat to mount it on. Then came the 1973 Merc 1500. That motor really makes my little CV16 fun!!! Then along comes a deal on a 1960 Evinrude 5.5 hp Fisherman. It took me a few hours, but it now runs like new. Along with the 5.5 came a 1971 9.5 Johnson, both as a package for $50. That one ran from the start. I only have the one boat. I have 3 motors just sitting. I really need a boat or two! So today, I see this 1983 25 hp Merc just begging me to bring it home. The guy says it's been sitting in his garage for 15 years, it needs to find a new home. So now I have a 5.5, 9.5, 25, 85 and a 150. The 150 is the only one with a boat! My wife says I need help! So here I am, asking for help. I need 2 boats to accept the short shaft 5.5 & 9.5, and 2 boats for the long shaft 25 & 85 motors. If you can't help with that, I think I may try to fill in the gaps between hp! So, if'n ya have say a 7.5, 15, 20... you get the idea.

Oh, the new Merc fired right up after I took the carb apart and put in the new impeller.

you cant get help....you've caught the oom bug, your wife needs to accept and nurture this un-curable disease. i do hear that building more ob stands helps with the symptoms tho. ;)

Nah CV, you're fine. But before you buy another motor, perhaps you should invest in a nice comfy cot for the garage...you may need it:eek:

I heard somewhere that an old Merc 500 cowling makes a good pillow on a cot. A 650 is too hard, a 45 is too soft, but the 500 is just right. I could be wrong, maybe you should run a test. :p

Just bolt 2X10s on spacers all along the garage wall, so you an hang all the outboards next to each other, in a panarama all around your cot. I am sure you and your motors will all live happily ever after....
