12' Fiberglass v with 8HP. what back up to use

I have a 12 ft pretty hefty v hull (row boat type) with a 96 Evinrude 8hp. The thing is i need something as a backup like a trolling motor or a set of Oars. Weight is an issue due to the small motor. What do you guys recommend?

Depends on what the water is like where you boat, but I'd say go with oars. Lighters, & the battery never goes dead.

oars. you don't want the weight of a battery or the expense of a motor.

Oars. The money you spend on the trolling motor and battery set up will pay for many quality tuneups on the 8 hp.

Should you not have a paddle anyway?? But yes, oars over T.M. and battery.
