J have a 76 evinrude 40hp and I'm trying to hook up a kill switch to it. It has a key ignition And iv tryed everything I can think of and I just can't figure it out. Any help would be great thanks.
There should be two "M" terminals (or an "M" and a "G") on your key switch. I THINK the wire colors are blue and blue/white stripe (???) for 1976. Anyway, the kill switch needs to electrically connect those two wires together to kill the motor.
