Well, I finally got around to starting the last of the trio today. The 1962 Lark IV had to get a $67 investment, for a completely new ignition system and all the rems from a buck toothed varmit nest cleaned out, but it runs like a champ now. I was able to start this beast with the hand starter as well. This comming spring, I'm going to start stripping this motor to repaint and it'll be a nice classic.

Yep. Out of three motors, this is the only one I had to put money into, to make it run. All three of them turned out to be mechanically pristine and have a lot of life left. There doesn't even seem to be any sign of water intrusion on the lower units of any of them too. I'll re-seal them all and give them new water pumps, just to play it safe. So yea, I got three awesome motors for a very good price. These old Big Twins are very forgiving and easy to coax back to life. That's why they're my favorite motors

That old classic you just restored will be able to be passed down to your grandkids.;)

Well, fortunately they're still common motors. On the west coast, it seems that there are still a lot of them out there. They were built to last and come back to life pretty easily. Keep a close eye on the ads.....or talk to me. ;)

Hey, it looks just like the one in your avitar:D

What's odd about these motors, is I bought them at the coast, but they look as though they never even touched the salt water.
