Hi all I have an 84' 15 foot bayliner. There is a knob that I can unscrew and remove on the bottom of the steering hub. Is this for removing the steering wheel because it wont budge? If not what is it's purpose? Im pretty sure it isnt a tilt model. Thanks!!

Re: Steering knob

If I'm not mistaken, I think what you're referring to adjusts the tension/resistance on your helm. Allows you to adjust how stiff the steering is.

Yup! Zactly what it is. Has nothing to do with the bolt(s) to remove the wheel.
