attached is a photo of the tilt/trim i have. it's electric and not the internal hydraulic type.

It was working for a few hrs while boating and now i can only hear the motor working a little bit and but not enough to push the shaft out at all.
The motor has 2 wires coming out of it.

thank you very much for the help/advice.

Re: electric power tilt trim not working

It is not trim, it's a mechanical lift for tilt only. The force of the prop will push the lower unit down when in forward.

Re: electric power tilt trim not working

thank you Don. So does that mean I can only tilt it up when idling into shore? Do you know what I can fix to get it working again?
Also, how do you adjust the plane of the boat if you can't adjust the trim?

thank you,

From your discription, it sounds like your motor may be going bad.
have you tried it when the boat is stopped? Is the motor going slower? It may also be the clutch is worn from trying to raise it while running. Hard to say.

here is the parts breakdown for it.
