1995-1997 Suzuki DT 150 will not idle well in gear.

Hi, I have a 1995-1997ish Suzuki DT150 2 stroke outboard. When I crank it up, it will idle just fine, but when I put it in gear, I have to basically ram the throttle forward or it will kill. Its pretty annoying (and embarrassing) when you have to keep starting your engine every 10 seconds in the no wake zones!
