I installed the drive today, Alpha 1, Gen 1, on a 1990 model bayliner, 5.7L, and I noticed, while making the water hose connection on the transom shield, I can see the drive shaft, with the large orange o-ring, exposed between the engine and the gimbal housing. Isn't there supposed to be a cover or a longer snout on the coupler? I know there is on the Gen II's but I cannot remember on the Gen 1's.
