I have a Johnson 9 1/2 hp, shallow drive outboard with no model number on silver tag on clamping bracket. In my research it said the serial number is on the freeze plug. That number is, J3084181 Can you get the model number from that?

Is this a duplicate post? That looks like a serial number, we need the model number. Can you post some pictures of the engine and cowl, maybe someone can ID for you that way.
