engine wont fire

i recently bought a 1976 playmate with the 120hp inline 4cyl.. whn i bought it the guy fire it right up, i brought it home fired it up again and left it for the night.. the next day i went and fired it up before i took it out and the motor ran for about a minute then abruptly shut off... i cant get it to refire, gas is going to the carb... it doesnt seam to be sparking.. i changed the coil out and nothing... any suggestions or similar expereinces?


any help will help

Another one bites the dust.........

Why did you change the coil, you had spark, if "it does seam to be spraking" means anything.

Is the engine turning over fast enough to start? Just barely turning will not start it.
Did you set the choke by pumping the throttle a time or two? Did you give it some throttle while cranking the engine?

Ayuh,... Clean, 'n set the points, then check the sparkplugs for Fire...

Is there Gas in the tank,..??
Is it gettin' to the carb,..??

i meant to say doesnt seam to be sparking sorry for the typo and newbie questions...

its not a gas issue

You can clean the points so you know that's the problem, but you will need new ones after you see that it will run. Cleaned points don't last very long.
