1990 20 hp pivot pin problem!!!!!!

I'm really stupid and pulled the pivot pin to drain the gear lube. I can find the hole but it will not shift into neutral or reverse it is stuck in forward! Is there multiple holes that i have to stick the pen through? help me out i need to catch some SPRINGERS!!!!

Wiggle the shifter and use an awl or ice pick to catch the hole when you see it...you'll get it just keep trying!

i have one hole i use a small screw driver but if i put the pin through it will not shift in neut or reverse!!!

If it shifted before...you're still not lined up. The pin must be threaded through the LU housing and the shift lever. Now if you "forced" something, the lever could be bent. When you got it aligned, did the pin thread i easily?
