high all, i atempted to check the timing on my 4.3gl volvo with carb and delco est ignition. in the water i adjusted idle in gear to 650rpm. today in the yard i warmed the engine up, hooked up the timing light to #1 cyl, remove plug and connected the shunt into the distributor, started the engine and then hooked up the +12v . as soon as i hooked up the +12v , i didn't notice or hear any changes at all in the motor rpms. normally when a shunt is connected, should there be any noticable changes in the rpms to let you know that you have connected it? thanks
