on the late 70s and on up, do these motors have a set shiftrod height measurement and adjustment.Anyway the ones where the shiftrod screws in.
I noticed in the secret files only 50HP up settings are there.

Thanks I've had that site bookmarked for a long time, when it says ramblings it sure is true. It still dont answer the question it.s only 9.9-15 how about a 35 1984 Evinrude does it need a shift shaft height measurement?
I will soon find out.I have two a 1980 and a 1984 evinrudes 35HPs having a surgery the 7th then I will get to them.I would like to know in advance,But lots of my work is without the OEM manuals cant buy everyone and I usually do 8-12 motors every year, as a hobby extra $$

The 1980 has a different mechanism for shifting. The 1984 has the same set up as my 1990. I will look at my manual and get back to ya.

All the manual says is to screw the lower shift shaft into the yolk till it bottoms out. Then connect the upper shift shaft. 1990
