Old 4 hp Evinrude 1976

I received an evinrude 1976 4 hp model 4606m from my grandfather. Its not in mint condition but apparently it was a back-up motor and has few hours on it. I was hoping to learn where to start with working on it. I have never run a manual start outboard before and especially not one this old. Any information/help would be greatly appreciated on this motor. I can post pictures if it is helpful.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Start by looking in the Top Secret file ^^^ for awakening a sleeping outboard.

Then get yourself a factory Service Manual, www.outboardbooks.com

That is one of the great outboards of all time. Treat her well and you can leave her to your grandson.
