when I drained the old lube thick gray mush was all that come out, is it alright too just do a water pump kit or do I have too rebuild the whole drive.
That tells me you have a lot of water in the oil. You still need to drain all that thick nasty garbage out and pressure check it. Was there water in the ujoint bellows?
PS: You might want to add what drive you have, not everyone read your other post and have no idea what drive you have.
I think its the alpha one. where are the u joint belows. the drive is still mounted on the boat I,m just trying too decide what parts too order before tear down
Don't put the cart in front of the horse. You can't order parts till you find out what is leaking and why.
Get the drive off, and drained and pressure checked. Then you have a START as to what to do after that.
