Re: Nice boat for sale...

If you read the particulars on this vessel it says that it took 7 years to complete construction. Wow! I wonder why.

Ayuh,... Union labor.... :D

I like the ski-jump on the bow....

Don't think it'd clear the bridge in front of the house either....

It would great to live on board...... turn the rest of it into a casino and what a dancefloor the deck would make.

The HMS Invincible was a platform for the Harrier Jump Jet which the Brits pioneered. Some time ago, the Brits abandoned the more expensive, conventional carrier platform. This is one of the ships that whipped Argentina's arse in the 1982 Falklands War.

It looks goofy compared to our incredible ships of the line, like the USS Ronald Reagan, but they were very effective for the mission they were built for.

...and don't forget, the Brits are our closest and dearest cousins, next to our Canadian and Australian brothers! They are still a force to contend with. Just ask the Argentinians and the Iraqis.

It takes almost 13 years to build a US Nimitz class carrier.
Considerably larger than the ship in the link.

Most electronics propulsion and other components are left out until the last couple of years.
It leaves room for the latest technology.

That would make one nice deck boat ..uh.. ship

Just think of the party you could have on the deck of that baby! :D

During my time in the service, I actually had occasion to spend some time on that ship, not all the comforts of home, but was an interesting as well as comical experience, and that ride in the jump jet was something to write home about! :p They had two twin seat jump jets at the time my group was on there.. We were acting as advisers, I can tell you this, if you ever have a chance to party with the Brits, don't turn it down!

I can tell you from first hand experience, the little ramp at the front is very effective.................................................

For putting your stomach in the bottom of your feet, beat any roller coaster I have ever been on in my life and makes the Statos in Las Vegas feel like a kiddy ride!

Where would you get a trailer for it? And what would tow it home? I think my HOA is gonna have an issue with that in my yard.

Small renno project, the ramp lowers to water line as a ski jump.

(You just want to make sure you have enough speed up to clear all the way past the aft deck)

That boat would make fine addition to Portland Harbor.;)
