2008 90HP Optimax transom height upgrade

Anybody been able to upgrade their Optimax from 20" to 25"?
I'd like to buy a new boat in the spring but most of the 17-18 foot boats only support a 25" transom. Looking at the 25" motors, it looks like you need a extension box and shaft for in side the motor.

Well as I figured this is going to be stupid expensive to convert.
Dealer telling me well over $1000 for parts alone, so its not worth the hassle and possibly voiding my warranty.
