My new dash plan/design

I am slowly changing over the interior of the boat from cream (the gel coat color) and brown (carpet that is removed) and dark beige (upholstery) color scheme to a cream, medium grey and medium blue/creme upholstry.

As part of the repower project, the dash will be getting all new gauges. So a new dash panel will be cut from 1/4 or 3/8 clear lexan. Will paint the back side a color to complement the gauges and interior.

The gauges are Faria Euro Beige w/satin black bezel (the pic shows 5 gauges, but I ordered another 2" gauge so there will be 6 total):



The floor color is a medium grey:

As you can see the dash is just a simple rectangle. I thought a grey color dash matching the floor vinyl would look nice, and let the beige gauges with their black bezel stand out. The new layout is going to be two large 3 3/8" gauges in the top center of the dash, and two 2" gauges on each side, all in the same horizontal plane. Then switches, fuses, ignition, etc will be mounted lower on the left and right.

I'm trying to make it look as OE as possible. I know its just a simple dash, and very 1980's Bayliner looking, so a more fancy curved shape or crescent layout would be more work than I want to get into. And I'm trying to keep cost down, so inexpensive materials are good.

Any suggestions for color coordination, or colors or materials for the dash panel are appreciated.

Nice gauges! I think you can get the lexan in colors, so you might not have to paint a clear. I've seen the smoke gray before that might go well. I feel like the 3/8 would be a better choice than the 1/4 inch.

I also see some natural wood on your boat. You might consider a like stained wood trim around the panel. And when you move your switches, you can use the same stained wood as a plate for the switches.
