I have a Johnson 60hp longshaft (20 inch) mounted onto a fibreglass 12 foot speedboat.I want to add an auxillary motor for piece of mind when at sea.

I have a 2008 Tohatsu 3.5hp short shaft 4 stroke spare.Could this be used as my auxillary?

It would work. You will have to mount it on a motor bracket.
