Well needless to say I am a little disappointed after seeing the corrosion and bubbling on my Alpha drive after sitting in fresh water all summer....My anodes were in great shape but I am guessing I didnt have enough protection and the stainless prop didnt help.......I went to boat zincs.com and it is a little confusing.

What do you guys with stainless props in fresh water use?

Looks like I have a winter project of painting my outdrive

Sounds like you didnt have good contact from the anodes to the alum.

I dont think that is the case unless it came from the factory like that....boat has spent its entire life on the trailer thus far....This season was the first in the water.

Don S, From your diagram and what I can see on the gimbal anode it doesnt appear to have Mercathode....I do se a ground wire coming from the gimbal ring to the upper gearcase......How do I check

Re: Alpha GenII Corrosion

could also be the ground strap from the inner transom plate not connected to the engine block

Re: Alpha GenII Corrosion

the ground strap (black wire) will be on the top port side of the inner transom plate and attach to one of the rear bellhousing studs on the engine
