The wheel hubs seem to have an odd wheel bolt pattern. They appear to be 4 on 3.75". I tried using other 4 on 4" wheels I have and they won't fit. This is the trailer for the 1970 Crestliner. The axle spindle is still 1", I'm wondering if I should get new hubs so I can have a spare tire, none of my fit!

Re: Odd hub size

I feel your pain. I had odd spindles on my trailer. I played heck finding bearings and seals for it let alone complete hubs. I took the axle to an RV shop and they said "hmm never see one like that". That was all I needed to hear. Went to TSC and got a whole new standard axle with hubs for $130. No more hunting odd parts.

if your axle spindle is 1" there is 4 bolt hubs on 4" patterns out there, i sell them at my work here in Mass.. Dexter hub number is a 8-91A hub, bearing will be L44643 Inner/Outter, Seal should be also 1" with a ID on the seal being 1.249 (sounds funny dont ask, been like that for 7 yrs of me being a parts manager here).. just measure your ID/OD seals. I sell them complete 29.95 with hubs, bearing, lugs, grease caps.. hope this help you and others.. happy boating !

This Temporary Spare Rim image showed up on my local Craigslist. I wonder if it would fit? I'd never seen anything like it.

Re: Odd hub size

That is a universal temp spare tire, I have seen quite a lot of them over the years.

Now, jut wanted to say, the boat I picked up a couple of weeks ago, has a 4 lug pattern on it, and I was surprised it is the same as the wheels I had on my old Subaru station wagon, so had several wheels that I can use for a spare, I have also ran into trailers that had the old ford 4 bolt pattern hubs on them, the original 6 cyl mustang 64 1/2 had a 4 bolt hub on it so did the ford falcons, so some of the older trailers show up with this bolt pattern. Not common, but they are still floating around.
