1979 Johnson Seahorse 55HP Carb question.

Hello everyone I'm a new member. Does anyone know how to adjust the carbs on my Johnson 55. I think it is self adjusting but i am confused as to what the Large screw on the front of the carbs are for. Any help is appreciated.
