Hi folks, I joined this site in hopes someone can help me. I have a Holley 2300
2 bbl. on top of a Mercruiser 302. It idles fine but when I get on the throttle
it will respond for a short time and then cut out, run, then cut out, sometimes
stalling completely. My first thought, fuel filter, then fuel pump. Changed both
and problem still there. I am thinking about rebuilding the carb. cause I don't
know what else to do. I have re-done carbs. on cars many times but never a marine carb. PLEASE HELP, I WANNA GO FISH'IN!

Re: Holley 2300 needs help

Sounds like you are momentarily runnin' outta gas !!!

....before you go blaming that po' ol' Holley, try the suggestions of Don and Jason here: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=283269

Try removing the inspection port (pc. 23 of http://oldcarmanualproject.com/manuals/Carbs/Holley/TypicalViews/pages/2300C.html ) whenever you need to confirm fuel in the float bowl. Additionally, you may just have the fuel inlet valve assembly (pc.41) adjusted way too low (fuel level should be at the bottom of pc.23)
