I'm trying to decide if this is the most economical route to take. What do you think?

wow. The most economical way is to drop all the motors off in the middle of a lake except one. Then you will greatly improve fuel mileage but you also might notice a SLIGHT loss of power hahaha

My guess is that it would be very economical on fuel, since I doubt if it ever sees the water ..... :D

It's not real; it's a Mercury demo at a boat show. Notice that all of the motors are different models ?

I disagree, they seem to be all the same model engine, just mounted at diffrent heights and with diffrent length legs to accomodate the shape of the transom.

Though I haven't seen a 5 outboard model on the water, I have seen a couple Midnight Express's with 4 Mercs in the Annapolis Area and I hear they are pretty common in the Miami area.

I think I should do this with my old boat, but use 5 25HP instead. Possible?

Look closer. All of the logos are different, and the motors are not rigged to the boat. Also look at the steps alongside the boat, the carpet under it, and the little gimme bags from the Miami boat show.

Just have a fuel tanker follow you around. I'm thinking at WOT you'd be burping thru a couple zillion GPH.

The coupling linkages are missing from the boat show picture at the top of the thread.

So what does that mean? Everyone is right!

Why on earth would they name that set up the Midnight Express?

Is that somehow a reference to the boats that bring over immigrants?

Also, the logos are different because they all spell "<LOGO> MIDN IGHT EXPR ESS".

Those boats are really sick, they are actually really nice boats, not just fast. if you come to palm beach county, FL youll see them around. The local US Customs guys have one with 4 ProXS mercs on the back. Ive seen it running hard and it freakin flies.
