Is it Ok to put it in gear, on muffs, while in trailer position?

Is it safe to do that? I have a pre alpha out drive with a 350 chevy engine. Is it safe to do that without breaking anything? Or does it the outdrive need t o be lowered? Problem is I can't lower it right now. Thanks

Ayuh,... If ya can't lower it,... I wouldn't start it at All...
The U-joints turn with the Crankshaft, not the prop...

but if you could lower it. you would be fine. i just got done R&Ring my engine and one of the tests i did prior to a lake test was to see if it would at least go into gear (F & R) while on the trailer...
