Hi All
Looking for a little help. I have a 1989 4.3L Merc with an Alpha 1 Gen 1. My problem is with alingment.
Iinserted the tool, and it looks like it is going in all the way. The last 1/4 inch or so there is a little bit of resistance, then seems to pop in place. When I try to retract the tool, I have give it a good wiggle to get it out. Seems like it is binding to me.
So I decided to lower the front mounts and periodically check the alingment. It still seems to go in all the way. But when I grease the tool, I get markings at the 6 o'clock position.
My question is; did I lower the mounts too far, as indicated by the marks? Is it OK if the tool seems to pop into place the last 1/4 inch of insertion.
If anyone has any tips that could help me out, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tom
