Go to Merc Express and put the serial number of your engine in. It should give you a list of manuals for that engine (owners handbook, parts listings, service manual, etc). If the part number of the manual is the same as your 03 manual, then it'll be the right manual....
Chris........
Hey Chris, am I too stupid to use Merc Express? When I go there, click on look up parts by serial #, it brings up a screen that wants you to pick a type of motor, model, etc. I don't see old merc motors listed?? And when I put my serial # in the box there, it just says enter serial # again, like I put the wrong one in??
Here's where I was:
http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/us/
Is that the wrong site?
And here is my serial #: 3721711
I looked on the sticky, and if I am right, this is a 73 model. Merc 500 50 HP
The reason the mercury parts express system does not work for your engine is because the system does not recognise your engine serial number (3721711) Because it's either going to be to old or the engine was made outside of the USA.Hey Chris, am I too stupid to use Merc Express?
