I have a 2002 GC with the towing package. With a seven prong adapter on the hitch. Is charging circuitry available on my vehicle.

Re: Trailer hitch charging

should be - I believe it is the center pin, however the amps are so low it would take forever to get a decent charge.

That center pin is wired straight to your battery through a fuse. You need to be worried about too many amps and blowing the fuse...not the other way around.

I know my Tahoe will charge two deep cycles that was after a couple hours or so of driving.
Never had a fuse problem but i never let the batteries get really discharged.

Just because you have a seven pin receptacle on your vehicle doesn't mean you have seven circuits.

Count the wires going to it. It will be either seven or four.

If it is seven, one is usually a 12 volt power source. The owners manual will tell you what the maximum load of that 12 v source.
