First, Hey guys sorry its been so long. I went out yesterday to start the boat and get her ready for the season, and my steering was froze up. It is a 200 Johnson and has dual cable steering. I unscrewed the front cable and the steering would move, but the rod in the front was still froze. If the rod is foze in the tube how do I get it out? Is the cable bad since it is moving out when unscrewed but the rod is not? How is that possible if the rod is part of the cable?

Replace the cables. You DO NOT want one of those breaking at speed.

You can GENTLY drive out the engine ends with a soft drift/punch. I recommend brass.

There is no way to be gentle. This rod is really stuck in the tube. I guess I will be just paying for it at the shop. I tried all day yesterday to free it up, but no luck. Thanks
