I bought some West Marine penetrating epoxy to seal some cracks in the fiberglass and wood in the bilge. The directions say that it will set up in 24 hours but fully cured in 4-5 days. No problem.

My question is, It says to wash with soap and water before applying final finish. I don't understand why I have to wash it?

Please help.

How hard is it to get that off? Do I need to scrub or sand.

Just wash with soap and water and a medium soft sponge or cloth. It's not that hard to get off, should be a minimum of scrubbing and no sanding unless something unusual is happening.

Will a power washer work?

Power washing is overkill but should be OK.

Well, I was going to wash down the boat with the power washer to get rid of all sanding dust from the pre expoxy prep.
