1990 Mercury 150 HP/ No water coming out

Just bought a used boat ,put muffs on motor no water will come out.Where is it suppose to,under callan?

make sure the peehole hose is not stoped up buy useing a peace of heavy weed eater string or blow some air in it .if that don,t work change the impeller in the water pump. sometimes going to the boat ramp or landing is better than muffs.

Water should pour out prop and gratings above antiventilation plate. When you have the muffs connected and the water on, engine off, water should be coming out around the muffs. When you start the motor, this should cease as the water is sucked into the motor. if the water is not sucked into the motor at all, you have a bad waterpump, or insufficient hose pressure.
