Hello, everyone. First time poster here. Great site!!My issue is this, Ive got a 1963 johnson 40hp electric shift that was running good. I found out that the #2 cylinder was not getting spark. So I took off the flywheel & the whole unit that holds the coils, points, condenser ect... I Replaced the points & put everything back to what I thought was and now I have ZERO spark in either cylinder. Would this be due to timing? Could anyone tell me what timing marks line up with certain marks or possibly something else I may be overlooking. Thanks. Yes I know I need to get a manual, but if this is a relatively easy procedure that someone has experience with, I would really appreciate your advice.

You simply bring the fiber block on the arm of the breaker points' to the high point of the cam which will be right by the flywheel key. Set the points' at .020, and that's it.

What did the coils look like? Were they crumbling? Or were they in good condition?
