Hey everyone... Needing to change the stats in my 77 115 Johnson... Having trouble locating them... This is a new boat to me and I'm not real familiar with this engine... Can anyone tell me where they are located? Thanks in advance!
If you stand behind the engine and look at the cylinder heads, you will see a hose from each head going to a housing in the middle of the engine. The thermostat is inside that housing.
The diagram HERE may help as there are quite a few bits and pieces to the whole Venatherm and pressure control assembly. (Enlarge it fully with your browser magnifier to view it)
# 45 is the cover to which the hoses attach. #48 is the Venatherm. #54 is the Venatherm Valve and #55 the spring.
#47 is a check valve and #53 its spring.
