ok i have this motor.... its a 93 merc 15hp. i have changed the water pump, impeller, pulled and cleaned the cover (both by the exhaust and water outlet, new power head gaskets (2).
i thought the motor may have some salt water corrosion, but it was perfectly clean inside.
i blew air through the water pick up tube, and i get air coming out of the pee tube.
question, when i plug the pee hole with my finger, should the air have some resistance? it seems as though i loose air somewhere in the main housing shaft. is this normal?
i have not put the lower end back on, so i dont know if i got everything cleaned.
i also pulled the thermostat
