I have a 1970 Glastron fiberglass tri-hull that I'm going to start restoring soon. Looking at a new vehicle, but wanted to make sure that the truck is able to pull (and more importantly, stop) the boat safely, as well as pulling it out of the water. Can anyone estimate how much it weighs? Thanks!

My 1972 Glastron 18' Tri hull I/O weighed 1640 LBS and the trailer was right around 750, now that is a dry weight with no fuel or gear. But then again most mini vans are rated at 3500 so i think you will be good.

How long, what engine, single axle trailer?

Glastron said our 83 17' SSV hull weighed 950lbs, about 375lbs for the 140hp Evinrude, 700lbs for the trailer plus gear. When I weighed it at the feed store its weight with our normal gear was 2500lbs.

The only way to know for sure is to weigh it. Find a truck scale or a feed store, its usually only a few dollars.

You might also check http://www.classicglastron.com/ they may be able to help.

Just what 83 said. We had a 73? V187 with a 135 Johnson, there were larger ones and smaller. I/O's were about 500# heqavier.
