Newer engine?

Hi, I have a chris craft ltd 1987. when it in neutral it purrs,however when i attempt to increase RPMS milky oil spews out of the small tube that connnects to the arrester hose ,where the oil goes in. Could I replace my 5.0 omc cobra with a newer year or even a better brand. what would fit other than the same engine. I am new to boating. could someone tell me how to drain the oil out of this thing.

Thanks for the info. Could you tell me were to find the oil plugs this is a 1987 5.0 omc cobra. Before I invest in a new engine ,I would like to take a look at the head gaskets, but first i need to drain the oil,mabey several times to get the water out. I think with your knowlege I can rebuild this engine or atleast find out if it can't be repaired. Ok where do I start.!!!!!

Ayuh,... Usually you Pump the oil out through the Dipstick Tube...

You still haven't told Us if this is a 5.0l Chevy, or Ford....
Is the distributer in the front of the carb, or behind it,..??

You got that bass ackward. Rear dist is Chev.
