Outboard and trim don't work after battery change

Replaced my battery on our pontoon boat. The accessories work (horn, radio, lights), but the ignition and trim don't work. I checked that all red wires/terminals are connected to positive and black terminals to negative. I checked fuses, tried the trim button on the motor body and the throttle control. I also checked to make sure I was in neutral. Any thoughts on what I am forgetting or what could be wrong? Thanks much.

Did You Check Fuses At The Motor? They Should Under Engine Cover

It would probably be helpful to know the make, model and hp of your motor.

I bet you need to rough up the mating surface where the battery cables connect to the terminals - rough both the terminals on the battery and the cable connection - all the low amperage draw stuff is working, but the high amp draw stuff isn't, which points to a bad connection.
