I've read a couple posts about replacing the intake screens, but they were for smaller engines. I'm assuming the procedure is the same for mine, but I wanted to check.

1. Remove Impeller Housing (Replacing)

2. Break up the existing screen box and remove

3. Insert new screen box and snap into place

It looks like it should slip in, but its a tight squeeze with the drive shaft and bearing housing right there.
Do I need to remove any of the bearing housing, or can I just drop it in?
Thanks

dont go by what people are saying.... its very possible the post that you were reading were for diffrent motors.. best thing to do is get yourself a repair manual and read the manual.... will save you lots of trouble and its going to be there for future use... good luck

I have a repair manual, but it doesn't specify a procedure for the replacement of the intake screen.

I was hoping someone might have done it before and could answer:

Does the bearing housing have to be removed to replace the intake screen?

Thanks
